High Forest is one of 18 townships within Olmsted County, located in the southwest corner. The governing body consists of 3 Supervisors, 1 Clerk, and 1 Treasurer.  Supervisors are elected on a 3-year cycle and the Clerk and Treasurer rotate on a 2-year cycle.

Township Day, held on the 2nd Tuesday of every March, is your chance to make your voice heard. Elections are held from 5-8 pm and after that the annual meeting is held where residents discuss and vote on many items, including the tax levies that are a portion of your property taxes.

Chloride to help control gravel dust is applied upon request once per year in late May or early June. The cost for 300 ft is set each year at the annual meeting and is currently around $200.  If you would like to be added to the notification list please email the Clerk.

Remember that it is never acceptable to push snow onto or across a township road.  This practice can lead to loss of control or damage to vehicles or snow plowing equipment.  MN Statute 160.2715 governs this activity and failing to comply is a misdemeanor and as such is punishable by up to ninety days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
